Electro

Electro is the lightning element of Inazuma. It feeds the longest list of reactions in the game, from Electro-Charged to the Dendro Quicken family, and it powers some of the strongest quickswap teams.

1. The Electro vision and its identity

Electro is the element of eternity, associated with the nation of Inazuma and its Archon, the Raiden Shogun. Among the seven elements, Electro has the widest web of reactions: it pairs with Hydro, Pyro, Cryo, and Dendro, and with Dendro alone it unlocks two whole reaction families. That breadth makes Electro units flexible, but it also means the "right" Electro pick depends heavily on the team's core reaction.

Electro rarely wins by raw personal damage in solo play. Its strength is enabling other elements — Aggravate boosts Electro and Dendro hits, Hyperbloom converts a Dendro Core into a homing strike, and Electro-Charged locks enemies in continuous ticking damage. For unit rankings and roles, see the tier list and character database.

2. Electro's core non-Dendro reactions

Before Dendro existed, Electro's identity rested on three reactions shared with the older elements. They remain relevant in many teams.

Electro-Charged

Electro-Charged triggers when Electro meets Hydro on a target. The enemy takes continuous Electro damage over time and cannot be frozen, because the two auras coexist rather than one overriding the other. This reaction is the backbone of Taser teams, where Fischl, Beidou, and a Hydro unit keep enemies perpetually shocked.

Overloaded

Overloaded is Electro plus Pyro. It causes a Pyro explosion that knocks back light enemies and breaks Geo and Electro shields efficiently. The damage is Fire-based, so it does not scale with Electro bonuses, but the knockback and shield break utility keep it useful in specific fights.

Superconduct

Superconduct is Electro plus Cryo. It deals AoE Cryo damage and, more importantly, lowers the physical resistance of enemies hit for a duration. Physical carries such as Eula or razor-like units lean on Superconduct to open a window where their normal attacks land harder.

3. Electro and the Dendro Quicken family

Since Dendro launched in version 3.0, Electro's most impactful interactions are with Dendro. Applying Dendro then Electro creates the Quicken aura. Once an enemy is Quickened, two follow-up reactions become possible.

Aggravate

Hitting a Quickened enemy with Electro triggers Aggravate, which adds a flat damage bonus to that Electro hit. The bonus scales with the triggering character's level and Elemental Mastery and can critically strike. Aggravate teams build their Electro unit for Crit and Elemental Mastery, and they keep the Quicken aura alive with repeated Dendro and Electro applications.

Hyperbloom

A separate Dendro path is Bloom: Hydro plus Dendro spawns a Dendro Core. Applying Electro to that core triggers Hyperbloom, turning it into a homing Sprawling Shot that seeks enemies and deals Dendro damage. Hyperbloom's damage scales with the Elemental Mastery of the Electro character who triggered it, so a high-EM unit like Kuki Shinobu or Raiden Shogun becomes the team's hidden damage engine.

The Quicken and Bloom routes ask for different stats, so an Aggravate build and a Hyperbloom build on the same Electro character are not interchangeable. The build guides separate them for exactly this reason.

4. Electro Resonance

Two Electro characters in a party grant Electro Resonance, called High Voltage. Its first effect shortens how long the team is affected by Hydro status by 40%, which softens Electro-Charged and Freeze punishment. Its second effect is the notable one: triggering Superconduct, Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Quicken, Aggravate, or Hyperbloom has a 100% chance to generate an Electro Elemental Particle, on a 5-second cooldown.

That particle generation helps energy-hungry Electro units, but the 5-second cooldown limits it. Units such as Raiden Shogun, who generate their own energy, barely notice the resonance, while characters starved for burst uptime appreciate it more. Treat High Voltage as a comfort bonus rather than a reason to force a double-Electro core.

5. The quickswap playstyle

Electro units are central to quickswap, a style where you weave short bursts of several characters' skills and bursts instead of parking one unit on-field. Electro application is fast, off-field damage is common, and many Electro kits reward quick in-and-out plays. Raiden Shogun's burst coaching, Yae Miko's totems, and Fischl's Oz all contribute while you swap away, which keeps the rotation moving.

Quickswap shines in the Spiral Abyss where you must clear two halves fast. It demands practice with animation cancels and swap timing, but the payoff is higher team damage than a single carry could produce. Region content in Inazuma and beyond is where most players first learn the rhythm.

6. Best Electro characters and their roles

The Electro roster covers batteries, off-field appliers, and dedicated damage dealers. The units below define the element's roles.

Raiden Shogun

Raiden is the archetypal Electro battery and burst damage dealer. Her skill marks the team for coordinated attacks and restores energy, while her burst deals massive Electro damage and refunds burst cost. She carries both Hyperbloom and Aggravate teams and is a frequent captain for quickswap cores.

Yae Miko

Yae places three totems that deal off-field Electro damage and can be detonated for a burst strike. She feeds Aggravate and Electro-Charged teams steadily and rewards players who plan around her totem uptime.

Keqing

Keqing is an on-field Electro sword damage dealer who works in Aggravate and Quicken teams. Her teleporting skill gives mobility and fast application, making her a self-sufficient carry for players who want one Electro unit doing the work.

Fischl

Fischl summons Oz, an off-field Electro applicator that triggers Electro-Charged and Aggravate from the sidelines. She is a staple four-star in Taser and Quicken teams and one of the most efficient supports for her rarity.

Beidou

Beidou's burst creates a field that reflects Electro damage when the active character is hit, making her a counter-attack sub-DPS. She pairs with Fischl in double-Electro Taser teams and rewards players who time her parry.

Clorinde

Clorinde is a Fontaine Electro damage dealer built around a Bond of Life mechanic and fast on-field damage. She fits Aggravate and Quicken teams that need a front-line Electro carry with strong personal numbers. For her exact stat targets, see the build guides and artifact index.
